Free Training Session for Aged Care Workers And Providers
About the event
This interactive workshop provides the space for participants to stop and reflect on how they can enhance their understanding of working inclusively of cultural diversity with colleagues, clients and in the community.
Understanding the core elements of cultural humility, self-awareness, managing unconscious bias and curiosity will be explored and applied to every day life through activities and discussion.
Learners will:
• Apply a framework for working with a culturally responsive approach
• Reflect on the impact of cultural identities, beliefs and values on everyday interactions
• Identify common ground to work collaboratively
• Implement a strategy for managing unconscious bias to enhance engagement
• Explore the impact of power differentials
• Apply the model of intersectionality to address disadvantage for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
